Depending on which way you look at it, I found quite possibly the hottest or coolest new coffee toy through a link on one of my favourite website’s right now (HackerNews) to a new and innovative product the “Coffee Joulie” on Kickstarter.
It solves two different problems in one that we face as avid coffee drinkers. – helping take absorb the heat of hot coffee from scalding to a luke warm 140 degrees (60 degrees Celsius) and helps your coffee staying warm twice as long (I hate cold coffee) through the magic of thermodynamics.
Schemed up by two design engineers, Dave Petrillo and Dave Jackson, they’ve already surpassed their initial goal of $10,000 and catapulted beyond $30,000 and 492 backers (including myself) at the time of writing this.
I really am excited for the launch of this product. They’ve been handmaking their prototypes, and if this lives up to the hype, I can see a huge market and an awesome distribution channel opportunity for them through independent coffee shops – maybe even Starbucks?
Would you put your money on something like the Coffee Joulie?
